Mr. Ewing has been a member of the Hamilton County Public Defender Office since 2008. He is a 2004 graduate of The Ohio State University and a 2007 graduate of the Salmon P. Chase College of Law. He was admitted to the practice of law in Ohio in the fall of 2007. Mr. Ewing has almost exclusively practiced indigent criminal defense his entire career. He has been a Municipal Court Public Defender since 2008. Prior to that, he worked for the Cincinnati defense firm of Schmalz & Hale, where he primarily performed Felony and Misdemeanor contract work for the Public Defender Office. Prior to coming to work for the Public Defender, Mr. Ewing also represented private clients in criminal and civil matters, including felony drug trafficking, OVI, divorce, and probate matters. As a Public Defender, Mr. Ewing has zealously represented hundreds of the poor and indigent citizens of Hamilton County. He has tried numerous cases, including Thefts, Trespasses, Telecommunication Harassment, Child Endangering, and Assaults. He has successfully argued Motions to Dismiss/Suppress before the Municipal Court Judges on matters ranging from OVI to Drug Possession to Domestic Violence. Mr. Ewing is a passionate advocate for his clients, always doing everything possible to protect and advance his clients’ rights and liberties. He believes that all persons should be provided the best legal representation possible, regardless of their income or social status. That is why he is proud to serve as advocate, counselor, protector and friend to the clients of the Hamilton County Public Defender Office.
