Sean Vicente has been the Municipal Director at the Hamilton County Public Defender’s office since 2019. In this role he has expanded the division by adding social workers, a mental health attorney, and half a dozen new attorney positions. Previously, he was the Training Director and ran the Indigent Defense Clinic at the University of Cincinnati College of Law. Mr. Vicente joined the Hamilton County Public Defender’s Office as trial counsel in May of 2015. He has worked as a trial attorney in both state and federal courts. From 2008 to 2015, he served as an Assistant Federal Public Defender in the Eastern District of Missouri representing clients charged with crimes including bank fraud, conspiring to provide material aid to terrorist organizations, firearm offenses, and distribution of controlled substances. From 2000 until 2008 he worked as an Assistant Public Defender in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania providing defense to indigent clients charged with robbery, attempted murder, and drug trafficking. During his career, Mr. Vicente has tried dozens of jury trials and hundreds of bench trials in both state and federal courts.
