Mr. Vicente is the Training Coordinator for the Hamilton County Public Defender’s office. In this role, he counsels new attorneys in effective advocacy, coordinates continuing legal education for current public defenders, and provides instruction and supervision to students enrolled in the Indigent Defense Clinic at the University of Cincinnati College of Law. Mr. Vicente joined the Hamilton County Public Defender’s Office as trial counsel in May of 2015. Prior to joining the office, he worked as a trial attorney in both state and federal courts for a total of 15 years. From 2008 to 2015, he served as an Assistant Federal Public Defender in the Eastern District of Missouri representing clients charged with crimes including bank fraud, conspiring to provide material aid to terrorist organizations, firearm offenses, and distribution of controlled substances. From 2000 until 2008 he worked as an Assistant Public Defender in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania providing defense to indigent clients charged with robbery, attempted murder, and drug trafficking. During the course of his career, Mr. Vicente has tried dozens of jury trials and hundreds of bench trials in both state and federal courts
