Sami Silverstein joined the office in May of 2018 in the municipal division. Sami graduated from DePaul College of Law in 2013. During law school she clerked at the Cook County Public Defender's Office and was a student in the Center for Justice In Capital Cases. After graduation, she joined the public defender's office in West Palm Beach, Florida. In West Palm, she worked in the misdemeanor, juvenile, and felony divisions. She tried over 40 jury trials. In 2017, Sami moved to Cincinnati to be closer to family. Before joining the public defender's office, she worked at Legal Aid for Southwest Ohio in the Child Law, Family Law, and Housing Law practice divisions. In her current role, Sami is an adjunct professor at University of Cincinnati College of Law where she supervises the Indigent Defense Clinic. Sami runs our internship program and recruits and trains new lawyers. Sami is a board member of the Homeless Coalition, a bail reform advocate, and belongs to The National Lawyers Guild. Before attending law school, Sami was a journalism and political science student at Indiana University Bloomington.
