Under general supervision, serves as court appointed advocate for children to evaluate their living situation to protect the best interest of the child while preserving families whenever possible; maintains extensive caseload; maintains direct contact with the child, the parent(s), child's teacher, day care provider, therapist, youth leader, tutor, mentor, etc.; advocates for implementation of court ordered services; makes recommendations to the court as to the overall goals of the case and recommends solutions to further realize the goals; recommends alternative plans for permanency; maintains case files including social histories, case records, treatment data, supportive material and any reports; establishes and maintains working relationship with community agencies (e.g., coordinates services, attends conferences and workshops, speaks to civic associations); makes court appearances as necessary.
Experience:
I started working for Hamilton County in August of 2017 shortly after earning my Bachelor’s degree. My first position in Hamilton County was as a Juvenile Corrections Officer at the Youth Center. I worked at the Hamilton County Youth Center until June of 2018. During that time, I began working for Hamilton County Juvenile Court Security. I was a Security Officer at 800 Broadway until August of 2019. In August of 2019, I took on the position as a Juvenile Probation Officer. I was a Juvenile Probation officer until the end of February 2023. I became a Guardian ad Litem for the Public Defender’s Office in early March of 2023.
