Guardian ad Litem

Serve as a court appointed Guardian Ad Litem for children who are the subjects of Dependency Court complaints alleging abuse, neglect and/or dependency. Advocate for children in dependency hearings. Participate in all phases of dependency litigation including trials, review, and in-camera hearings. Serve as a parent surrogate for children who need or receive special education services. Conduct visitation with the children on my case load in a variety of settings. Provide written reports to Hamilton County Juvenile Court. I worked in various childcare settings while obtaining my BA, including daycares/preschools and a before and after school program for school-age children. Once in law school, I had an internship with the Children's Law Center of D.C. as a policy clerk and an internship at the Guardian Ad Litem office.
