Ms. Davis is a 1999 graduate of Loyola School of Law in Chicago, Illinois and was admitted to the Illinois Bar that same year. While in law school she had interned at the Midwest Center for Justice, an organization which represents inmates on death row in their federal appeals. After graduating from law school, she worked as an Assistant Public Defender in Cook County, Illinois and continued to represent indigent clients until the summer of 2005, when family matters brought her back to Ohio. She joined the Guardian ad Litem Division in December of 2005. She serves as a court appointed guardian ad litem and represents the best interest of children who have been abused, neglected and/or dependent. She also serves as counsel for non-attorneys who serve as guardians ad litem for the division. Ms. Davis advocates for the best interest of the children to whom she is appointed in dependency court, delinquency court, probate court and in criminal court. She has completed all requirements necessary for her position, including Rule 48 training and surrogate parent training in order to provide meaningful advocacy for the children whose best interest she represents.
