Madison graduated early from Ohio University in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology/pre-law and a certificate in Women and Genders Studies. While in undergraduate, Madison interned with the Office of the Ohio Public Defender, Athens County Branch. Madison graduated with honors from Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law in May 2016. While in law school Madison was involved in the Ohio Northern Law Review where she held the position of Citation Editor on the Law Review Board. Two of Madison’s articles were selected for publication through the Law Review. Madison also received the Staff Editor Phoenix award for 2014-2015 for her excellent work quality and dedication. Also while in law school Madison clerked for honorable Judge Fred Pebbles, interned at the Lima Public Defender Office, Municipal Division, interned for a private criminal defense and civil attorney, interned for Barnes & Thornburg LLP, and interned for the Hamilton County Public Defender Office. After taking the bar and awaiting her bar results, Madison volunteered for the Hamilton County Public Defender Office representing clients for bond hearings, pleas, and sentencing hearings in felony and municipal court under her limited license. She was admitted to practice in Ohio in 2016 and she accepted a Municipal Trial Counsel position at the Hamilton County Public Defender Office shortly after being admitted.
