Municipal Trial Counsel

Ms. Taunton is a 2002 graduate of Vermont Law School. She was admitted to practice in Ohio that same year. From 2002 until 2003 she maintained a private law office specializing in felony criminal defense. In 2003 Ms. Taunton took a position with the Juvenile division of the Hamilton County Public Defender Office, staying there until 2009, when she was promoted to the Municipal Division of the office. In Juvenile Court Ms. Taunton handled a daily docket with multiple clients, handling felony and misdemeanor trials, motions, bind overs, mental health court, and sentencing issues. Since moving to the Municipal Division Ms. Taunton has managed a case load of 50-100 clients at a time. Handling trials, motions, and sentencing issues for all her clients.
