Ms. Kenney received her Bachelors in Arts in Political Science and Spanish Studies from Wheeling Jesuit University in 2009. She is a 2013 graduate from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. During law school, Ms. Kenney was an associate member of the Immigration and Nationality Law Review and acted as a Senior Editor for the Human Rights Quarterly. While in law school and upon admission to practice law in Ohio, Ms. Kenney worked as law clerk and associate attorney for a local criminal defense attorney, who actively mentored her in her initial years of legal practice. Ms. Kenney briefly transitioned and worked as a business immigration attorney for a local for-profit corporation for two years prior to joining the Guardian ad Litem Division in 2018. As an Attorney Guardian ad Litem, Ms. Kenney represents the best interests of children who have been abused, neglected, and/or dependent. Ms. Kenney also serves as counsel for non-attorney Guardian ad litems in the Public Defender’s office. She has completed Rule 48 training and surrogate parent training, and participates in various continued education opportunities to strengthen her advocacy and legal practice skills
