Libby graduated from the Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2019 in the study of Psychology. She then returned to the Ohio State University in the fall of 2020 as a double buckeye, pursuing a Juris Doctorate from the Moritz College of Law. As a law student, Libby interned with the Hamilton County Public Defender and the Ohio Public Defender in Columbus. After graduation, Libby joined the Colorado Public Defender system as a trial attorney in Boulder County. In the fall of 2024, Libby returned to Hamilton county and joined the municipal division as a trial attorney at the Hamilton County Public Defender.
