Brittany Ellis is a 2020 magna cum laude graduate of Northern Kentucky University Chase College of Law. During law school Brittany took an interest in trial advocacy. She competed in her school’s Opening Statement Competition for 1Ls and won first place. She later went on to compete in the school’s closing argument competition before joining NKU Chase College of Law’s National Trial Advocacy Team. Brittany competed in the Stetson Pretrial Competition, the American Association of Justice (AAJ) Competition, and the Kentucky Mock Trial Competition. Brittany’s team was semi-finalists in the AAJ Competition and won first place in the Kentucky Mock Trial Competition. While in law school Brittany also participated in the Constitutional Litigation Clinic through the Ohio Justice and Policy Center where she represented three individuals in prison civil rights cases in federal court in Ohio. Brittany worked as law clerk at the Cincinnati Bar Association for two years before joining the Hamilton County Public Defender’s office.
