Mrs. Ancona joined the office first as a law clerk in 1998 while she was attending the University of Cincinnati Law School. Upon graduating and passing the Ohio Bar Exam she first worked as an attorney for the office in the Juvenile Delinquency Division. In 2001 she was transferred to the Municipal Trial Division where she received extensive training and trial experience. She was a member of the OVI Task Force that was responsible for training staff attorneys in that area of the law. In 2007, Mrs. Ancona was then promoted to the newly created Common Pleas Felony Trial Division where she defended clients charged with serious crimes ranging from Drug Possession to Murder. She tried numerous, complex cases involving multiple count indictments in this capacity. In 2012, Mrs. Ancona became the Director of the Municipal Trial Division of the Law Office of the Hamilton County Public Defender. In 2016, Mrs. Ancona became the Director of the Juvenile Division of the Law Office of the Hamilton County Public Defender. Mrs. Ancona worked for a brief period as a Prosecutor for the City of Cincinnati. Prior to attending law school, Mrs. Ancona held social work, corrections and case management positions.
