Experience:
In 2019, I completed my Social Work Internship with the Alexandria Police Department under the supervision of Kentucky’s first Police Social Worker. During that time, I focused on overdose response, community education presentations, and research on integrating community-based policing practices into the Campbell County community.
In 2020, I joined AmeriCorps’ Mercy Serves Program for a year of service post-graduation as a Vaccine Distribution Navigator and Advance Care Planning Specialist. In this role, I connected patients to health and social services following emergency department discharges, assisted families with advance care planning initiatives such as Living Wills and Healthcare Power of Attorney documents, and coordinated COVID-19 vaccine access and emergency rental relief for vulnerable residents in the Bond Hill neighborhood during the pandemic.
From 2021 to 2025, I served as a Licensed Social Worker with the Hamilton County Quick Response Team. In this role, I conducted in-home assessments for individuals and families following non-fatal overdoses, linking clients to treatment and recovery resources across the full continuum of care—from detox to sober living. I collaborated with justice partners to advocate for care-centered alternatives to incarceration and provided peer and case management for several specialty dockets within the Hamilton County Court System, including Felony Mental Health Court, Drug Treatment and Recovery Court, and Veterans Treatment Court. I also had the privilege of working on the syringe exchange van in partnership with Hamilton County Public Health, providing direct access, harm reduction materials, and compassionate support to our most vulnerable community members.
My work focuses on bridging behavioral health and legal advocacy to promote equitable outcomes for clients navigating the criminal justice system. In recognition of these efforts, I was honored with the Ohio Deflection Association’s Outstanding Individual Award (2025) for advancing court liaison engagement and improving treatment access for justice-involved individuals.
