The Executive Division is responsible for overseeing the day to day operation of the entire law office of the Hamilton County Public Defender. We manage a staff of over 130 employees, including attorneys, social workers, investigators and support personnel. It is also responsible for long range planning and the implementation of office policy.
In addition, this Division administers several rotation panels providing for the assignment of private counsel to qualified clients entitled to representation on felony, municipal, juvenile and Guardian ad litem cases. Moreover, this Division ensures that our staff attorneys and appointed counsel receive training and access to educational seminars and conferences, with the continued goal of providing client-centered and zealous representation to our clients.
Bi-weekly management meetings are held with the Directors of the Administration, Appellate, Felony, Guardian ad litem, Juvenile and Municipal Divisions. Members of the Executive Division meet no less than quarterly with the Hamilton County Public Defender Commission.
