The Staff of the Adult Services Division, are an integral part of the defense team. We assist clients with the underlying issues that led to their contact with the criminal justice system. Using a socio-ecological framework we get to know our clients and their specific needs. We understand that contact with the legal system can have devastating consequences in their lives.
We advocate for clients in and out of the courthouse by:
* Providing mitigation letters (Telling their story)
*Supportive counseling (Listening with empathy not judgement)
*Helping guide clients through the legal system (Explaining court process and procedures)
*Providing referrals and connection with services (Maintaining relationships and current knowledge of community resources)
