Who We Represent
The Law Office of the Hamilton County Public Defender provides legal representation for indigent adults and juveniles who are charged with the commission of an offense or act that is in violation of a statute of the State of Ohio for which the penalty or possible adjudication includes the potential loss of liberty and or post conviction proceedings as defined in Ohio Revised Code (ORC) Section 120.16(A)(1).
To qualify for representation it must first be determined that the person being represented is indigent based upon the standards which generally requires an interview with one of our interviewers located on the Second Floor of the William Howard Taft Building at 230 East Ninth Street. If you are locked-up, then your indigency status will be reviewed by the attorney assigned to your case.
