Ms. Gieske graduated with honors from Salmon P. Chase College of Law in 2005.
While pursuing her law degree, Ms. Gieske acted as an assistant editor and contributor for the Northern Kentucky Law Review. She also worked two years as a research assistant for Chase Constitutional Law professor John Valauri, spent one summer as a legal intern at Cinergy Services (now Duke Energy), and enjoyed one summer as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable William O. Bertlesman of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.
Upon graduation, Ms. Gieske served as a Staff Attorney for a collective six years at the Twelfth District Court of Appeals for the State of Ohio. This was followed by a venture into solo practice, where Ms. Gieske handled cases before the First, Second, Fourth, and Twelfth District Courts of Appeals. Her appellate experience includes private civil and criminal appeals, appointed permanent custody appeals, and appointed criminal appeals in cases ranging from simple misdemeanors to complex murders.
Ms. Gieske joined the Public Defender’s Office in 2018.
